Derek Sivers, musician, entrepreneur, and TED speaker says, "I do things, but I stop before anything gets stressful... "You notice an internal 'Argh.' That's my cue. I treat that like physical pain, what am I doing? I need to stop doing that thing that hurts. What is that? And, it usually means that I'm just pushing too hard, or doing things that I don't really want to be doing."

We often see pain as a sign that we're pursuing something worth doing. If it hurts, it must mean we're growing. If it's painful, it must mean that we're making progress. What if resistance was life showing you want you should remove? What if instead of fighting resistance, we used it as a cue to let go?

Here's why:

  • Resistance means you're forcing an outcome
  • Resistance takes more energy
  • Resistance means you're operating from weakness.
