I grew up in Orange County, California with the greatest father and mother in the world. According to my parents, we didn’t have much when I was a child, but I never felt like I was missing anything. My parents worked between two and three jobs each to keep food on the table. They taught me the principles of hard work and passion for overcoming obstacles.
My First Venture
Entrepreneurship has always been in my blood. I can remember starting my first business at seven years old buying big bags of candy and selling the individual pieces door to door. In elementary school, I would create clubs and always wanted to be the president.
The Reminders
At age 12, I started “The Reminders.” The Reminders was going to be the next great thing! With The Reminders, I would approach coaches of sports teams and offer to call each of their players and inform them of any upcoming practices or big announcements. This way, the coaches would only have to make one phone call instead of 30-40. I got my own 800 number, a logo, and some fliers. When I finally began promoting the business, I realized that other services existed that did this for free. This was my first experience with market research and selling it before you make it.
My First Venture Into eCommerce
In high school, I ventured into e-commerce for the first time developing an informational product targeted to the fitness industry. After building a website and promoting the product, I made one sale which eventually got refunded. I kept pursuing my goal of making money online and eventually launched a second online product which sold very well and still sells on Amazon to this day.
I attended college to pursue a degree in Business, Entrepreneurship. During this time, I purchased two investment properties in Texas which sold for a profit and interned at a multi-million dollar company where I learned the trade of marketing for big bucks from a mentor who I am still close with today.
While in college, I consulted five businesses in accounting, leadership, marketing, and strategy.
College Graduation
On May 26, 2009, I became the first member of my family to graduate from college. Directly after graduation, I interned at a leading e-commerce start-up company where I successfully built e-commerce businesses.
Today, I am the founder of VictorMacias.com as well as another company where we focus on providing strategy and implementation for e-commerce businesses.
